WordPress agencies manage several plugins and themes across many sites.
There are times when you need this data outside of the WP Remote dashboard. We have added a feature to export your plugin and theme inventory.
How to export the CSV
To use the export feature, log in to your WP Remote account and select the sites you wish to document.
Then, go into Manage Plugins or Manage Themes, and select the data you want to export.
Use the icon in the tray to start the download.
Information included in the export
The exported CSV provides a comprehensive overview of your site assets. It includes the following data points for your records:
Compliance and insurance requirements
Many enterprise clients now require a software bill of materials, especially in regulated industries. This is a complete list of every plugin and theme running on their site. Cyber insurance providers also ask for this data to assess risk.
The CSV file can meet these documentation standards. Generate one and hand it over to your client in minutes.
Sales audits and prospecting
You can use the inventory data to demonstrate the need for your maintenance services. The export provides a clear look at the technical state of a new prospect site. You can use this data to create branded reports for your sales presentations.
Add a new prospect to your dashboard and export their plugin list to show them exactly why their site has performance or security issues.
External data analysis
You may want to combine your site data with other business tools. Exporting your inventory allows you to move this information into a CRM or a project management tool. You can use a spreadsheet to filter data in ways that are specific to your internal agency workflows.
Import your plugin list into a spreadsheet to compare your premium license usage against your actual costs.
Professional client handovers
A clean transition is important when a client moves to another provider. You can now provide a full manifest of the site architecture as part of your offboarding process. This creates a clear record of the software you maintained during the contract.
This is a great goodwill gesture to an old client or perhaps one you’ve outgrown.
