How do you usually access your staging site database?
It’s not in your client’s cPanel. Remember, your staging site runs on our cloud, not your client’s server. This means you can’t just log into their hosting account to check the database tables.
Usually, this means you need SFTP/FTP access for your staging site and check your wp-config.php file. It’s also possible that your staging plugin doesn’t offer this access. Either way, it’s frustrating to do in the midst of or troubleshooting.
Stop hunting for credentials.
WP Remote gives you a direct, secure tunnel to the staging database. You can open phpMyAdmin instantly, without ever needing a username or password.
Single click for Database Access
You don’t need to configure an SSH tunnel or download a database manager.
Here’s your access path:
- Navigate to Backups inside your client website, select Create Staging.
- Select the backups and PHP version and continue to create staging.
- Once the staging is complete you will be able to access the staging site with the details available. .
- Click on Go to Staging Site Details, where you will be able to do more with the staging environment. PHPMyAdmin will be one of the options on the top, click on it.
That’s it. A secure phpMyAdmin window opens in your browser. You are automatically logged in with full permissions. You can check table overhead, delete corrupted transients, or verify that your WordPress migration wemt correctly.
Debug “Invisible” Errors
Sometimes a site breaks, but the error isn’t in the code; it’s in the database.
Maybe a plugin migration failed halfway through, or a serialized string is corrupted. You can’t see that from the WordPress dashboard.
This feature lets you look under the hood. You can inspect the wp_options table or run a manual SQL query to fix the issue before you push changes to the live site.
The End of “Update Tuesdays”
You likely have a recurring block on your calendar just for running manual updates. It’s a weekly chore you can’t skip.
You can finally delete that calendar invite.
By enabling safe auto-updates, you push that entire workload into the background. The system tests and applies patches as they come out. You stay secure in real-time, and you get those three hours back every week to focus on billable work.
