If you are getting this error message when the plugin is installed, it is usually indicative of an issue on your site.

WP Remote can return this error when your site returns a response that WP Remote doesn’t understand. Sometimes these can be caused by WP_DEBUG being enabled, or plugins / themes throwing error notices. It can also be caused by a security plugin. Click here to find out more

Ensure WP_DEBUG is set to false and try to connect to the site again. If it successfully connects, then you have a plugin or theme that was producing PHP warnings which was breaking the request.

If you click the “Show more info” button on the error message, it will show you the invalid response that has been received. Send this information on to us at support@wpremote.com and we’ll do our best to help you solve the problem.
